BMW R47

Year: 1926-1928
Power: 18 PS
Capacity: 494 ccm
Engine: 2 cyl Boxer

In 1926 the sports model R47 was introduced as successor of the R37 with a slightly improved 2-cylinder boxer engine.

Its output was raised by 2 hp and the weight was slightly reduced.

For the first time the engine was equipped with an exhaust silencer.

The previous models released the exhaust fumes more or less unmuted.

The frame was the same as of the R32.

A tube frame without rear suspension and a front fork with a drawn short rocker with leaf spring suspension.

The sister model R42 is the simpler touring model with a lateral valve engine and the same frame.
