The model designation Scrambler was used for a motorbike design that was quite common during the 1950s and 1960s.
To improve cross-country capabilities and robustness these bikes were equipped with all terrain tires, raised exhaust pipe and raised fenders.
After a boom time during the 1950s and many motorsports victories during the 1960s and 1970s production at MV Agusta had to be discontinued in 1980 due the acute financial problems.
In 1992 the brand name MV Agusta was acquiered by the Castiglioni group (Cagiva), which before had already helped manufacturers like Aermacchi or Ducati to get going again.
