Up to their takeover by the Hotchkiss firm in 1939 Amilcar produced cars that were referred to in France as Voituette.
They were open, simply built and sparingly equipped automobiles with to three seats, intended for the driver with sporty ambitions but rather limited means.
The CC from 1922 was the first automobile built by Amilcar.
This model of dainty appearance was introduced to the amazed public still in the firm's year of formation.
Equipped with a 903 ccm motor the CC did manage to reach a respectable speed of 80 km/h.
The exceedingly sporty driving experience was due to the missing differential and an extremly hard suspension.
