Towards the end of 1950 the R45 heavy wheeled tractor was introduced as amore powerful and technically revised successor of the proven typ R40.

Hanomag fulfilled this was the demands of their customers for more power.

Especially in the early post war period every vehicle was needed and often employed for actions beyond their performance limit.
