Until World War 2, Opel was the largest truck manufacturer of the German Reich.
Before the introduction of the Blitz Opel had already produced light trucks but used heterogeneous designations derived from the motorization or the payload.
The memorable name Blitz for the new truck series resulted from a contest performed in 1930.
The truck shown here has a payload of 3 tons and a four wheel drive.
