In the years 1997 - 2005 the engines of the Swiss Formula 1 team Sauber were called Petronas, the name of the Malaysian oil company which was the major sponsor.

In fact it were V10 engines made by Ferrari which were one evolutionary step behind of the engines employed by the Italian team.

The drivers of the season 1998 were Jean Alesi and Johnny Herbert, who together could win 10 points.
